Cannon Mk3
The Cannon boys built this oversized gokart. It had an aircraft engine sideways. The engine was aircooled flat (boxer) 6 cylinder a little over 300 cubic inches.
Frame
The frame was made of thin sheet metal to be as light as possible.
Transmission
The engine power went through one of two chains, selected with a Ford synchronizer. Two speeds, no reverse.
High Tech
Semi elliptical rear springs going back to a solid tubular axle. The axle bearings were Ford flathead main bearings. The axle had a hole over each bearing and a hole in the middle. The one in the middle was drilled and tapped for a pipe plug so they could dribble a little oil in it from time to time.
